the learning curve

i got this from an e-mail by a friend... liked it... loved it!

Because life is a learning process........

I've learned-

that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.

I've learned-

that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I've learned-

that no matter how bad your heart is broken
the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I've learned-

that our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for who we become.

I've learned-

that just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do.

I've learned-

that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.

I've learned-

that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret
It could change your life forever.

I've learned-

that two people can look at the exact same thing and
see something totally different.

I've learned-

that you're life can be changed in a matter of hours
by people who don't even know you.

I've learned-

that even when you think you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you,
you will find the strength to help.

I've learned-

that credentials on the wall do not make you a
decent human being.

pack shet!

2 days ago, my sister in law gave birth to a 7.8 pound baby boy (a new addition to our family), so while I was nowhere near the computer, I was busy being a tita. It’s my first time to be one but not my first time to be around these cuddly little creatures fresh from the uterus. It was fun to be the first one to bottle feed him and dress him up. However, the fun ended when it was time to clean him up and change his diapers when he made his first poop (pakshet naman! kasama ba to sa pagiging tita?)

I watched Scary Movie 3 this afternoon with my sister. We both agreed it was a stupid movie, but it didn’t stopped us from laughing our asses off on some of the scenes.

duh! Conversations #4

killerbee: what gift don’t you wanna receive this Christmas?
me: gifts that border from the mediocre to the useless.
killerbee: so i'm crossing out the mugs and the scented candles... he he, anong mga bagay bang gusto mong matanggap?
me: tangek! tangible things are out of the question... what I need is love!
Killerbee: (rolling eyes) kainis ka ha!

danggit bai!

It was already nightfall when I arrived at Cebu the other day due to the delays of Cebu Pacific. Now this is an airline that claims to be on the dot 99 percent of the time. I must be really unlucky to be on the 1% of it’s delayed flights. Good thing I got myself a good taxi driver. Who not only brought me to a hotel very near the place where I would be having my orientation seminar but also gave me the exact change (You earned yourself a good tip for that Mr. Driver!). Manila cab drivers should learn a thing or two from Cebu and Davao City drivers.

Because I was not expecting a very short orientation seminar, I was left with nothing to do all afternoon yesterday. I would’ve wanted to take a nap but Spongebob Squarepants was keeping me from doing so. Later on I realized that I am wasting precious time cooping myself up in my room, so I asked the lady at the front desk for some directions to the nearest mall. My trip to the mall resulted in my purchase of a big suede tote bag in navy blue, which I wanted in an even bigger size, something which can fit the x-ray film that I’m supposed to hand carry going to NJ.

I also planned on going to the marketplace where loads and loads of danggit are being sold but three things kept me from doing so. One, it was already getting dark; two, I was not armed with the directions on how to get there and three, I’m positive I would get lost (ako pa? Ang babaeng walang sense of direction!). So I ended up buying danggit and otap at the grocery.

new word learned courtesy of Mr. Cab driver:

”kanto” is termed as ”eskina” in Cebu.

duh conversations #3:

(an overheard conversation)

Guy: so anong trabaho ng naging husband mo?
Girl: Chef.
Guy: Sa bangko?
Kaso napigil ko lang he he)

in celebration of my going to Cebu, let me post today in Cebuano.
