the learning curve

i got this from an e-mail by a friend... liked it... loved it!

Because life is a learning process........

I've learned-

that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.

I've learned-

that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I've learned-

that no matter how bad your heart is broken
the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I've learned-

that our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for who we become.

I've learned-

that just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do.

I've learned-

that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.

I've learned-

that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret
It could change your life forever.

I've learned-

that two people can look at the exact same thing and
see something totally different.

I've learned-

that you're life can be changed in a matter of hours
by people who don't even know you.

I've learned-

that even when you think you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you,
you will find the strength to help.

I've learned-

that credentials on the wall do not make you a
decent human being.

pack shet!

2 days ago, my sister in law gave birth to a 7.8 pound baby boy (a new addition to our family), so while I was nowhere near the computer, I was busy being a tita. It’s my first time to be one but not my first time to be around these cuddly little creatures fresh from the uterus. It was fun to be the first one to bottle feed him and dress him up. However, the fun ended when it was time to clean him up and change his diapers when he made his first poop (pakshet naman! kasama ba to sa pagiging tita?)

I watched Scary Movie 3 this afternoon with my sister. We both agreed it was a stupid movie, but it didn’t stopped us from laughing our asses off on some of the scenes.

duh! Conversations #4

killerbee: what gift don’t you wanna receive this Christmas?
me: gifts that border from the mediocre to the useless.
killerbee: so i'm crossing out the mugs and the scented candles... he he, anong mga bagay bang gusto mong matanggap?
me: tangek! tangible things are out of the question... what I need is love!
Killerbee: (rolling eyes) kainis ka ha!

danggit bai!

It was already nightfall when I arrived at Cebu the other day due to the delays of Cebu Pacific. Now this is an airline that claims to be on the dot 99 percent of the time. I must be really unlucky to be on the 1% of it’s delayed flights. Good thing I got myself a good taxi driver. Who not only brought me to a hotel very near the place where I would be having my orientation seminar but also gave me the exact change (You earned yourself a good tip for that Mr. Driver!). Manila cab drivers should learn a thing or two from Cebu and Davao City drivers.

Because I was not expecting a very short orientation seminar, I was left with nothing to do all afternoon yesterday. I would’ve wanted to take a nap but Spongebob Squarepants was keeping me from doing so. Later on I realized that I am wasting precious time cooping myself up in my room, so I asked the lady at the front desk for some directions to the nearest mall. My trip to the mall resulted in my purchase of a big suede tote bag in navy blue, which I wanted in an even bigger size, something which can fit the x-ray film that I’m supposed to hand carry going to NJ.

I also planned on going to the marketplace where loads and loads of danggit are being sold but three things kept me from doing so. One, it was already getting dark; two, I was not armed with the directions on how to get there and three, I’m positive I would get lost (ako pa? Ang babaeng walang sense of direction!). So I ended up buying danggit and otap at the grocery.

new word learned courtesy of Mr. Cab driver:

”kanto” is termed as ”eskina” in Cebu.

duh conversations #3:

(an overheard conversation)

Guy: so anong trabaho ng naging husband mo?
Girl: Chef.
Guy: Sa bangko? (serious siya ha!)
(muntik na akong sumabat, “hindi, sa istasyon ng tren.” Kaso napigil ko lang he he)
Girl: (natatawa, dahil sino ba naming hindi?) hindi, sa restaurant! Ano ka ba?

I was complaining to my friend through SMS one day on how certain things (and some assholes) are making my job a living hell for me. She definitely made my day by replying this:

In this DAMNED world u gotta remember a few things:
SHIT always happens, people will FUCK you off,
But most importantly, I’m here every DAMN day for u,
Cause I’m ur FREAKIN friend ‘till the FUCKING end…

Thank you FRIEND!

butterflies

"Some people are settling down, some people are settling and some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies." -Carrie

OH! MY! GOD! I haven’t felt the zsa zsa zsu for a while that I fear I’ve already forgotten what it’s like to actually feel it. You have no idea what I’m talking about.... what about if I say I want to meet my “Berger” and feel the zsa zsa zsu whenever I’m with him? No clue?.... Ay lintek, ito ang napapala ko kakapanood ko ng SATC. Check this one out, this was the episode aired last night which has become one of my favorites…

A random poem from the shoebox:

sorry

We’ve come to the most dreaded part,
When misunderstandings keep us apart.
I’ts hard to believe we’re fighting over something,
When we used to agree a lot on almost anything.

I’ve really been a stupid jerk,
And you’re having a hard time to make this work.
Your love for me I totally forsake.
I understand, I made a mistake.

I hope we’ll get over this in no time.
Just a sorry from me, and I hope you’ll be fine.
I know it’s hard to admit a mistake,
But I’m doing it anyway co’z our love is at stake.

Words had hurt and tears had been cried.
It’s good enough that we both tried.
Now there’s no need for you to worry,
Co’z I’m here right now saying I’m sorry.

FPJ is really running for president

oh well.... if he wins, (even after what happened to Erap's presidency) it just goes to show how masochistic the Filipinos are.... let's all prepare ourselves for the dumps because we're definitely going there.

bits and pieces

FINALLY! After almost a year and a half, I had my braces removed... in it’s place are the equally annoying retainers which my dentist made me swear (to the roots of my teeth!) to wear religiously. Now, all I want for Christmas is to have my braces back because I sound better speaking with those braces on than with these damn retainers which make me sound like a child with a hopeless case of lisp. Such a good idea to make someone shut up.

everybody's doing the ocho ocho. heck even my nephew who is three years old is dancing it even before he learns to tie his shoelaces... what could ABS-CBN think of next?

* * * * * * * * * * * *

It’s nearly December and the third installment of The Lord of the Rings trilogy is about to be released in theaters! I can’t wait... I can’t wait... I can’t wait! It would be good to re-read the Return of the king book, if only I hadn’t given Dennis my set. It’s only now that I’m feeling the loss. God! what was I thinking, trading my LOTR trilogy for a brand new Harry Potter book 5? I am so going to get my books back from Dennis when we bump into each other again.

My days are in a frenzy right now. I am getting busier and busier as November comes to a finish. I’m not yet done with my clearances, I have to go and buy the cloth for my new uniforms, still have to buy a suitcase big enough for the things I’m bringing along, find a jacket and accessories suitable for winter, get a schedule for my PDOS, the list goes on. However, the bright side of it all is that I only have two more days left at my workplace and it’s finally goodbye, so long, adios, paalam, babush! to them all.
